Purdue University and Indiana University is one of the biggest college rivalries in history. Ohio State and Michigan, Duke and North Carolina, USC and UCLA just to name a few others. All of these schools I've listed excel both academically and athletically, which makes these schools so competitive.
I personally think that Purdue University is better than Indiana University. Indiana always prides themselves on their basketball and their business school, the Kelley School of Business. However, their basketball has pretty much hit rock bottom. Last season, the Hoosiers record was 6-16, and the Kelley School is 16th in the nation- not too shabby. Purdue’s basketball was ranked in the top 5 in the nation for the past two years, however, Hummel tore his ACL, but Purdue still has a top ranked team. Purdue is the 4th highest recuiting schools in the nation for jobs after graduation. Purdue is ahead of the University of Michigan, Notre Dame, UNC, and other top ranked schools. Also, Indiana wasn’t even on the list. Purdue’s pharmacy program, engineering program, nursing program, and vet medicine just to name a few are ranked top in the nation.
Obviously, Purdue is a better school because of their academic and athletic excellence. And always remember, you're going to school to get an education, not for athletics. A top University should be ranked off of solely acedemics.
